Monfils - Goffin

Gael Monfils will face David Goffin in the third round of ATP tournament in Toronto.

Monfils continued his amazing run after winning the tournament in Washington last week here beating Sousa and Pospisil both in straight sets.  He served very well against Pospisil and easily won every of his serve games, while he also was great on return and used something poorer second serve of Pospisil to have 56% points won on Pospisil’s second serve.

On the other side Goffin win his match against Querrey, by Querrey’s retirement. He has not impressed me in that game. He had only 51% of his first serve in and he allowed to Querrey some break points in the early phase of the game. But after Querrey started to have pain in his back, he managed to break him and win the first set.  However he has not showed so good play and I think he could have big troubles against Monfils who is on fire. So I will take Frenchman to win here.
