Simon - Jaziri

Guilles Simon will face Malek Jaziri in the match second round of ATP tournament in Metz.

After some poor results this season, we have finally seen something better performance from Simon here against Garcia Lopez in the first round. This is one of Simon’s favorite tournament, last season he played in the final, while in 2014 and 2013 he won it so I expect a good result from him this year too.

Against Garcia Lopez Simon’s serve worked very well, he had a 70% of the first serve in, it is true that he was inconsistent in some parts of the match and he lost 3 serve games, but still he was very good on return and used something poorer 2^nd serve of his opponent and managed to win in 3 sets.

I think today Simon should have easier job as Jaziri have not showed so good performance in the first round. He played a 3 setter against Millot who is ranked 162th. His has only 53% of the first serve in and that could make him big troubles against such a good returner as Simon. He also lost all 3 encounters against Simon, only once he managed to take a set, which was last year in Indian Wells, but I think this time he cannot take even a set as Simon looked more confident in the first round, while he will also have a big support of the fans.
