After a great pick in Korea, another very interesting match in Romania between Astra and Sepsi. I think that both teams will score at least once here and odds are just too high imo.
Astra lost a lot of strength. They finished 6th in Romania last season but they lost key players trying to replace them with player with lower salaries. They changed a lot of players and they will need time to build chemistry. Before their first official game of the season, they have played 3 friendly matches...they lost every single game conceding more than 1 goal in every game. They lost against Trepca 89 4-2, Anzhi 2-1 and against Rijeka 3-1. First official game was a decent one for them...even if they didn't play very high level of football, they were able to win 3-1 against Zira. They showed that they have a good attack (as they have scored in every single right now) but they showed that their defense is very poor atm (as you can see, they have conceded at least once in every game played). It's true that the first 3 games were only friendly matches but their bad defense was confirmed in the first official game of the season. Also, they have played only 3 days ago and they have to play a very dangerous 2nd leg in Azerbaijan on thursday so that can be an huge factor in favour of the away team. Astra is the favourite team to win but playing a lot of matches in few days can be very dangerous especially at the start of the season. I don't think that they will have an easy job today.
Sepsi, on the other hand, is coming from Liga II. There's big difference in Romania between Liga I and Liga II but I still think that they will have big chance to play a very good game. They finished 2nd last season and they signed some good players for this season trying to play a decent role in the romanian Liga I. I think that Sepsi will be fully motivated to play this first game against one of the best teams in Romania and they will be totally fit to play. They will have nothing to lose and they will try to score one or even more goals against a very poor home side's defense. On the other hand, they should concede at least once against a great Astra's attack. It's true that there is big difference between these two sides atm but Sepsi will be still able to play a good game. They moved well this summer and, as I said before, I don't know if Astra will play all 90' minutes with their best players as players need to rest especially at the start of the season. 2nd leg in Azerbaijan will be not that easy.
I don't know who will win this match but I think that this will be an open one. Astra needs time to play at their best level as they have a lot of new players and their defense seems to be very poor. Also, they have played only 3 days ago and maybe they will do turnover. I think that odds for both teams to score are too high considering Astra's first game and Sepsi's motivation for this game. I was expecting odds around 1,85 or 1,80 so I see very good value for both teams to score here.
