Both Brunei DPMM and Home United will be striving to take an advantage into the second-leg when they meet on Tuesday evening for the first leg of the Singapore Cup semi-final. Home United, the only local team left in the competition, have been appeared in the Singapore Cup final three times in the last four years, winning two of them. They will be looking to progress into the cup final once again, where a spot in the regional AFC Cup competition awaits. But to do that, they will have to negate two tough ties against DPMM, who are aiming to achieve a double this season. DPMM are currently leading the league tables by a fair margin and are favourites to lift the title at the end of the year, and they are looking to cap the year by winning their first ever Singapore Cup trophy too. Nonetheless, with the Singapore Cup proving to be a competition Home have excelled in in recent years, expect the Protectors to give their all against DPMM.
