Cilic vs Donskoy

Following quite a lot on the Challenger Tour, I was really impressed with Donskoy this year. After a disappointing year, he is back at his best and he has good memories here. Former #65 ranked player, did reach the 3rd round out there in 2013 when he was in form only losing to Hewitt 3-1. In the Spanish challenger a few weeks ago, he was so impressive, winning it without dropping a set. Week before he did reach the final of the one of Astana, only losing to Kukushkin.

Evgeny Donskoy was part of the Russian team in Davis Cup a couples of weeks ago. He was only scheduled to play doubles. Russia was 0-2 down and he then played a major part in the doubles success to keep the dream alive and then was the man to beat Tommy Robredo to make the Russia win 3-2. This was on hard courts.

Since that, Donskoy is 16/2 on hard courts! This is an impressive stat. This Davis Cup stuff gave him huge confidence and now he is playing some excellent stuff.

This will be hard for Cilic as he face a player who is full of confidence. I go with this handicap.
