The first round provided surprising performances for contrasting reasons for CSKA and Krylia. A trip to Samara to face newly-promoted Krylia suddenly looks more challenging, especially in light of the hosts' unexpected steely defensive display in Makhachkala. Franky Vercauteren has moulded his limited resources into a slick outfit in his year in charge, although this match provides a significant step-up in quality and they will look to improve on their record of only two home wins at home in their previous Premier League campaign. Buoyed by the morale-boosting opening win, Krylia will be full of confidence. It is hard to look past CSKA and I expect a comfortable win for them.
