Lillestrom did a clever tactical move ahead of the match, putting forward Erling Knudtzon up front. Constantly threatening the space behind the defence, leading the opponents to press low instead of high, and giving his side an easy day controlling the match after taking an early lead. Scoring two more in the second half using Knudtzons pace, Lillestrom were able to claim another win by 3-1. Bodo/Glimt got their first win of the season, triumphing 1-0 against Tromso in the previous round. Lillestrom are a stronger side than Bodo/Glimt at the moment, something that is clearly reflected in the league table where the home side currently stand with two wins from their last three, while Bodo/Glimt have but the one win all season – and six defeats.
