Sandefjord lost another game in the 2-0 defeat to Valerenga in the last league round. That was their eleventh loss of the season, in sixteen games. In the match against Valerenga they were never close to upsetting the opposition. The result leaves them bottom in the table by some margin. Currently, they have six points to the spot above them, and eight to a safe position.
Rosenborg on the other hand are leading the league, with five points to Stabaek in second. Their last league game ahead of the break was a solid 3-0 win against Odd, in which they controlled the opposition for the full ninety minutes. Leading 1-0 from the first leg, the Rosenborg scored three in the first half-hour on Thursday through midfielders Midtsjo, Helland and forward Soderlund to end any faint hopes of a KR Reykjavik comeback in the Europa League second qualifying round.
This is top versus bottom in the league, and I expect that the game will reflect that. Rosenborg have lost games against underdogs earlier in the season, but Sandefjord have been too poor for me to reckon an upset is likely here. Rosenborg are favourites.
