Tromso played a good match last weekend against Stromsgodset, and deserved better than the 2-1 result they got. However, goals win games – and points – and the result highlights Tromso’s troubles in front of goals. While they conceded two goals in four chances, they needed six chances to score once.
Haugesund are similarly toothless this season, with previously deadly striker Christian Gytkjaer having a less efficient season, and his partner Simon Diedhiou being erratic in front of goal. And although they created more against Mjondalen than did their opponents against them, they still lack the ruthlessness that so characterised them a few seasons back.
Both sides come freshly rested to this game as they have been eliminated in earlier rounds of the cup. However, given overall form lately and display, as well as home advantage for Tromso, I hold them as narrow favourites to get all three points in this contest.
